Fading

Definition Fading: The heat, arising from overuse of the brakes can make the brake effect diminish from a certain point on. Thereby the braking distance can increase considerably and consequently bring about a serious hazard. On high-performance vehicles, this heating is tried to be countered with inside ventilated brake discs. On trucks however, permanent brakes are used for decelerations over long distances.
