Automotive glossary: What is Exhaust Gas or Waste Gas?

Definition of Exhaust Gas: The burnt gasoline air mixture is being pressed out of the cylinder into the exhaust pipe, and thus advanced to the outside. Exhaust gas substantially consists of carbon dioxide and others, also nontoxic air components, but also of the extremely toxic carbon monoxide as well as other, partially toxic gases. A turbo engine uses the exhaust gas flow for driving the turbo charger.
